Je Ne Sais 03:43
"From now on," I heard him say "Baby’s gone away" I am told how to stay Time to go away Open-mouthed but I’m out of breath Open ears but I can’t hear it Walked enough soles are peeling What is this change of day? Sun has spun away Open-mouthed but I’m out of breath Open ears but I can’t hear it Looked enough eyes are sinking Where am I? Don’t understand Someone take my hand Open-mouthed but I’m out of breath Open eyes but I can’t hear it Walked enough soles are peeling
2.
If you would be someone tell me who’d it be Well you can Tell me who’d you wanna be I'd be anyone but me I don’t mean that in the way you might think I’m sad Just today I’m sad Yea tomorrow might not be that bad Mow the lawn dear Scratch the dog’s ear Wake up before the sun clears It’s so easy getting older If you turn the lights off tell me what you'd see? Can you hear? Is it what you want? Could you change it if it’s not? If you turn the car on would it drive all night? In the distance Are you happy there? Is there carbon in the air? So paint the fence white Make love the whole night Lay out in the sunlight It’s so easy getting older Don’t get too old
3.
Open Eyes 04:23
Open eyes, dazing and clueless Torn on time, cutting it close I left my mind, I’ve forgotten Nothing is gone, I’m lost on my own I realize it might be hoping A long shot, blind in the dark Hold me back, swinging at nothing You painted the house while I laid in the yard Jake, I’m sorry, you know I’m not And Jake forgive me, those days are done Mom, I’m sorry, I slipped, I’m done And Mom, forgive me, I’m nowhere, I’m no one Speak quickly, speak something real Please tell me what I have done If it’s not golden, it’s broken Double the bet, in ten years I’m done Jake, I’m sorry, you know I’m not And Jake forgive me, those days are done Mom, I’m sorry, I slipped, I’m done And Mom, forgive me, I’m nowhere, I’m no one
4.
Melt 03:04
I am now melting down Sunken nights so loud Breathe outside I know how Distant lights blackened out Go on, try it Reach out, you know this Dive in, sink down Look up, it’s dark now
5.
Moon 02:31
I say I mean it Go out and yell this Lay down, I’m useless Get up you can’t yet I don’t believe it It’s hard to think with These thoughts that are split Get up but you can’t yet I watch it all slide out of view In and out but gone too soon I miss the comfort of the moon And you
6.
Pink 04:17
Pink, pink at night It’s snowing in the summertime It’s cold just like July Home, sickness cold You’re coughing up the things you know And spitting out the old Trade, trade in all that you know Swimming towards the moon It's everything you wanted It's everything you needed To do Shift, shifting tides When I was young The sand was nice It sunk up to your thighs Hot, hot outside But now I’m smoking oxygen I’m stuck inside the blinds Trade, trade in all you knew Swimming towards the moon It’s everything you wanted It’s everything you needed Come true
7.
Take the bag, watch it grow You never know, you never know Take a boat, float back Cities bright, cities fat Remind me, how long? What’s that? Was I gone? Take a hit, go it slow Turn me up, send me home Take a bath you watermelon head Pull the peach pit like the James you read The friends you had were the ones you never met So bottle up, now no ones left so I’m no tired coward, I’m scared of the wind Dancing forward, scrambled lines in my wine Take a bath you watermelon head Pull the peach pit like the James you read The friends you had were the ones you never met So bottle up, now no ones left so
8.
Dreams 03:50
Now I lay upon my bed My windows open Am I asleep or am I awake Look out here from the deck The valley the sunset Can I return to there? Lake Tahoe, open air A cold breeze blows on me Unattached to anything I slip and I fall through Into white or into blue Into white or into blue
9.
Anytime, quiet sigh Inner tide, rolling down on 95 I am psyched, Melbourne type And it’s nice, I’m burning out my mind tonight I don’t need, cross my T’s She takes the lead, babe it’s everything you see Salt pool blues, it’s all for you Quiet tunes, beach is lonely, empty dunes Ample time, to cry all night What’s out of sight Maybe in another life Turn the stove off Fold the chairs up Leave the house locked The summer's gone
10.
Jellyfish 03:05
I enter data I enter people Salad for lunchtime Salad for dinner Loosing my side weight I gained sitting all day Nodding off cold feet Tiny room no heat I’m only human Constant and waiting Glass in my face Is brighter than Graceland Sifting through letters Cut on the paper Spin in my chair when No one is listening
